ITALY-ARAB EMIRATES: MASDAR CITY IDEAL CANDIDATE TO HOST INTERNATIONAL RENEWABLE ENERGY AGENCY

“The Italy-United Arab Emirates Association strongly supports the candidature of the United Arab Emirates to host the International Agency for Renewable Energy in Masdar City (IRENA)”, the Honourable Luca Barbareschi, President of the Italy-United Arab Emirates Association declared. “The first city in the world with zero emissions is an ideal location for the technological development of renewable energy. Masdar City, at Abu Dhabi, is the most ambitious development project in the world as regards research into renewable energy and the first city entirely supplied by the same. We will support the authoritative candidature of the United Arab Emirates with Masdar City to host lRENA by liaising with the Italian Government and European and international Governments and Institutions”.

The Italy-United Arab Emirates Association plays a vital role working with institutions, companies and universities in the two countries to support not just reciprocity of the investments required to reinforce bilateral economic cooperation but also familiarity with the two countries’ traditions, history and mutual expectations.
